The historical district of Sanlúcar la Mayor has been declared an asset of cultural interest by the regional government of Andalusia. It is one of the towns that has best adapted to the new technologies: it has been canny enough to combine its cultural heritage with innovative design.

The Abengoa thermal-solar platform in Sanlúcar, which has more than 600 mirrors measuring more than 120 square metres each, generates more than 24 GW and is the largest power plant of its kind in the world.

Another fascinating site worth seeing is the Guadiamar Green Corridor, which is of particular interest to hiking and nature lovers.
